Dennis Kucinich Campaign: Why Democratic Candidates May Not Comment on F9/11; It's the FEC!?

Here is why you will not see this movie mentioned on our web site, nor probably on Kerry's. Dennis' campaign relied on public financing. Although Kerry's campaign to get the nomination did not rely on public financing, I have heard he does want to use public financing for the rest of his campaign up to the election. To use the public election financing, you have to go by the FEC rules.

If Dennis or Kerry could be shown to have received any benefit at all from Moore's movie, the FEC might consider that some kind of a financial donation and not give the campaign that amount of money, or in Dennis' case, make him pay that amount of money back to them.

Moore's movie could be seen as benefiting Dennis or Kerry because it is so much against their opponent.

Sound confusing? You bet!

What it means is that we need to be very careful not to "support" Moore's movie.

NOTE: The Kerry Campaign press agent was just emailed requesting an official statement regarding this issue. Stay tuned.

Email sent to the FEC (info@fec.gov)

Please email me regarding why Democratic Presidential Candidates will not comment on the Michael Moore Film, Fahrenheit 911.

The Dennis Kucinich Campaign claims it is due to FEC rules. Is this true? Please explain.
