Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Rep. Jim McDermott enjoys "Fahrenheit 9/11" fame: "BOSTON -- Two giddy young women rushed up to U.S. Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., as he was crossing the street at the Democratic National Convention.
'Can we take a picture with you?' they asked. 'You were in 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' right?'
Yes, indeed. And the Seattle congressman's biting criticism of the Bush administration in that movie has catapulted him into a new type of fame. Especially at the convention this week, McDermott is a hot property.
'It's amazing how much impact a small amount of time (on-screen) had,' McDermott laughed. 'It has convinced me of the power of that movie.'"
