KRT Wire | GOP battles the big question: To see `9/11' or not?

KRT Wire : GOP battles the big question: To see `9/11' or not?: "WASHINGTON - (KRT) - A week after its surprisingly strong debut, 'Fahrenheit 9/11' appears to have divided Republicans into two camps: one that denounces it as left-wing propaganda and another that is saying nothing at all, hoping that the hoopla is long forgotten by November.
Falling somewhere in the middle last week was a smaller group of GOP partisans who acknowledged an interest in Michael Moore's feature-length assault on President George W. Bush, either as a cultural phenomenon or a peek behind the enemy's front lines.
A few of them even admitted, sheepishly, that they had gone to see it.
Steve Taylor, a spokesman for Missouri Rep. Todd Akin, R-Town and Country, acknowledged, somewhat reluctantly, that he went to see the movie in St. Louis last weekend.
'It was just from a cultural, political, what's-the-buzz standpoint,' Taylor said, explaining his curiosity. 'I was curious as to whether it really was a documentary. I don't think it was. I just don't think it had its ducks in a row, per se, nor was it really balanced. It didn't really offer a multitude of perspectives, and I think it was very politically motivated and oriented.'"
