Political apathy at USC is now officially dead - Daily Trojan - Opinions

Political apathy at USC is now officially dead - Daily Trojan - Opinions: "Love him or hate him, Michael Moore achieved something great on USC's campus Thursday. He got USC students to care about politics and come together in massive numbers to engage in important national and global issues.

Hours before Moore took the stage, talking politics, ripping into Republicans and generally encouraging political activism, students were already heading over to McCarthy Quad to find a good seat. By the time everyone had sat down, McCarthy Quad was filled from Von KleinSmid Library to Parking Structure X, Doheny to Leavey Library.

Thousands of USC students had decided to spend their Thursday night - a time USC students typically designated to partying, or pre-partying - to listen to Moore's speech. Some were fans, while others, as one sign read, abhorred him.

The fans cheered after each line Moore spoke; his enemies booed. The official 'protest section' chanted 'four more years' throughout the night.

What a beautiful thing."
