curlio.com: 2004 VMAs Bland and Boring

curlio.com: 2004 VMAs Bland and Boring: "Finally, the last award was given by Gwyneth Paltrow. Video of the Year went to Outkast.

And finally we had one last huge plug for voting. Amy Lee and John Mellencamp came out, plugging voting, then introducing Outkast. Outkast's performance was lovely, but ended up being just a huge voting plug, which was sort of a bummer. At least they made it a little fun, with the audience holding signs and making it look sort of like one of the party's conventions."

NOTE: Hmmm. I enjoyed most of the VMA last night. Using the political partry convention scene as a back drop for Outkast's performance was spot-on. MTV will re-broadcast their award show countless times over the next couple of weeks.
