As We See It: Tepid praise for a hot movie FAHRENHEIT 9/11: Could Michael Moore's new film remove a president from office? June 23, 2004: "Political opponents of President Bush are eagerly awaiting the opening of Michael Moore's new movie, 'Fahrenheit 9/11.' Few people have actually seen the film, which has undergone some last-minute editing as Moore and others hope to make the facts reported so airtight they can withstand any attack from Bush supporters.

Moore himself has described the movie as an 'op-ed piece.'

He told the Associated Press: 'I'm not trying to pretend that this is some sort of, you know, fair and balanced work of journalism.'

Opponents dismiss the movie as a kind of full-length political commercial. A New York Times writer, Philip Shenon, said this week that his viewing of a preview led him to believe that Moore's 'central assertions' are based in fact."
